As part of a team assignment, I helped develop an informational press release to boost brand awareness for LIVELab McMaster and communicate it's range of research and event based services. The challenge was finding a way to reference the impact of the pandemic on participant turnout without making it the focal point. We chose to position LIVELab as a forward looking research space while inputting subtle mentions of the importance of participant recruitment. I contributed quotes from past participants and lab directors to add a personal and emotional element to the story, highlighting what future opportunities could be missed if participation lags. The release was designed to inform and inspire, positioning LIVELab as a hub of innovation in neuroscience and music research.
